CHECKING IN. 12/19/18

CHECKING IN. 12/19/18
1. do your morning pages.

I woke up and my cold is worse. A bit depressed. Did some work on the blog experimental theology ... Was pleased to see one of my favorite contributors had made a couple of entries on the same blog. I responded to them. It is good to have a person or persons to write to and they respond!!

2.do artist date this week. How did it feel?

There is not very much here in  City to respond to artistically... At least I haven't found it yet ... I have found a connection to Paul Klee. I started a file from Pinterest. Yesterday I found a lot of things
 on Pinterest
posted about Betsey Johnson.

I realize in my meditation how much she has influenced my fashion taste and color palate.

Bless you Betsy!!

Especially in your first years you spoke to me and inspired me. Not personally of course but through seventeen magazine in about 1967? Or 68? Grok you! has inspired me ever since!! Fashion item by fashion item/ accessories... I don't know why it was so important for me to be so obsessed with my wardrobe. I was a gawky kid... no friends..  At that age I was looking for a role model. Someone to help me through that very tricky transition from childhood / adolescents / young adulthood. I was trying to find meaning for my life. I recognize several artist, writers, films, magazines that were influential in my development and Enlightenment to get through those years. I guess I was more normal than I thought in that way.

A teenager looking for a role model or two!!

In my recovery I have received some inspiration that I can let go of these now so something else may take its place regarding my true self.

Crosby Stills and Nash album song: "don't let the past remind us of what we are not now."

I like that!! Now, NOW, today, I need to take good care of my body/ mind. Shall I do art today?

Do I dare to eat a peach?
I have seen the mermaids singing each to each.
I do not think they will sing to me...

Or maybe they will. I am willing that they should or might.

There certainly is time for it today!!

We shall see. We shall see. Here is some more Paul Klee and Betsy Johnson,  some African American quilts, Motherwell, Joseph Cornell, Feodor Rojankovsky:

3. Are there any other issues this week that you consider significant for your recovery? Describe them.

Having anger present while you
unblock your equestrian self is a
sign of health.
